Didn't paint inside the lines when I was younger either. I think I see myself as more of a villain than a hero anyway.

The results would have been a lot more pleasing if I only had the right tools. Soon I will be upgrading to the current Adobe suite then all will be well.

I'm sorry that my updates have been so infrequent, fight fans. I just graduated and started a new gig, so its been a pretty stressful couple of weeks. Now however, it seems that things are starting to slow down. My goal this year is to make the best of my newfound freedom and write/draw one graphic short story. Stay tuned.

A Real American Hero

We too easily forget those whose hard work went into creating the stories we got to watch every weekday afternoon and Saturday morning growing up. Those fantastic adventures for He-Man or G.I. Joe didn't just materialize from nowhere. No, they came from brilliant writers. Yea,it is easy to forget that guys like him play a big part in shaping the imaginations of a generation.

Pure comedic GOLD! This cartoon sort of reminds me of my childhood. It conjures up memories of time spent torturing my little brother. Some of my punishment techniques were actually derived from this cartoon.....

An amazing find! One of my favorite cartoons ever! Our narrator has a way with words that ol' saint peter just isn't hip to that newfangled lingo. Keep an eye out for the tongue stealing cat. The expression on his face is priceless! Don't be suprised if you see me "borrowing" that expression somewhere down the line....

Sorry fight fans, nothing new to show you yet, but I do however have more cartoons for ya! Some things I ask you to pay attention to are the squash and stretch cartoon physics of my favorite character, The Wolf. Oh, and Red is hot! Believe it or not she was not rotoscoped. This was true craftsmanship. I envy those guys, there is so much I want to learn!

Baby's first flash #1

One of my first flash movies. I had a heck of a time trying to get this thing hosted on youtube. I half succeeded, though the victory is bittersweet because the picture quality suffered, the animation barely chugs along, and the music track got lost in translation. Though a shell of it's former self, its still good to look back. I'll try to fiddle around with quicktime in the near future to figure out where I went wrong, but in the meantime, enjoy the clip!

Wishing to pay tribute to a great author whose writing I had come to admire thanks to an introduction by an ex-coworker, I set out to honor him in the only way I knew possible. Feeling a small spark of creativity, I scribbled out this little drawing. I thought it was so clever! The only problem was that I had gotten lazy and decided to turn it in the next day, rather than turn it in the day it was created like most of the stuff I make. So, feeling that all is right in the world, I turn this in the following day with the high hopes of seeing it in the paper the next day. The only other problem was down the street in the state that borders mine, this madman had decided at that very moment to let his illness get the better of him. As I dropped off my meager offering to the editor's desk, his mind finally lost all touch with reality.
The next day as I came into work cheerful and satisfied at a job well done, I sat down at my desk and grabbed the student paper. Here it comes! Glory and roses for me! Hoping to scratch my itching ego and honor a great man at the same time, I flip it over. What I found splayed across the front page took all the wind out of my sails. The headline read:

33 SLAIN AT VIRGINIA TECH

Damn. The madman in the neighboring state had really done it. He robbed me of my tribute and had taken from me the juicy 7 dollars I was to gain for my submission to the paper! Damn him! Did he really hate life so much that he not only had to take the lives of so many people, but he had to con me out of 7 bucks too? Hell, if I had known he'd go through all this trouble, I would have mailed him the cash! 7 bucks doesn't nearly come close to covering the price of all those beautiful lives wasted, so why the hell did he do it? Why? Why heap so much suffering on the world? Hanging my head in shame, I came to this small conclusion:

The last thing the world wants to be reminded of in the wake of a devastating tragedy such as this is more death and how precious our mundane little lives are. Knowing this, the editor probably took my piece and threw it in the trash. Had I turned the piece in earlier, it wouldn't have taken on the extra meaning that I have unintentionally given it. Now this piece carries more weight for me than it ever would have before. So what if it didn't run in the paper, at least Kurt didn't have to bear what we have all seen these past few days. Maybe God knew this before he took Vonnegut out of this cruel world. A true, fitting tribute to such a man was that after so many long years of being witness to some of the worst atrocities of man he was finally spared this site as one of the worst. The world didn't need my drawing. It'll never even come close to paying for the lives of 30+ individuals, but for that knowledge, it was well worth the 7 bucks.

Political Cartoonist: February Fallout!

First off is a tale of political intrigue that mainly has something to do with politics on campus. This one is still in the production stage, but it was so darn cute, I had to post it. I particularly like the cow-girl.

Con-Agra, the world's leading supplier of contaminated foods has done it again. This time, its not the beef, the chicken, the turkey, the spinach, the strawberries, or the...everything else that Con-Agra makes and screws up...its peanut butter. Sweet, innocent, peanut butter...its like finding out your childhood friend is trying to kill you. I feel so betrayed.

We love the bomb. The atom is just too damn sexy and we know it. The other planets keep telling us that he's no good, but we know we can change him. We luuv him, no matter how abusive he is. We know we can take the bad boy...

I've been so busy with school work that I haven't had time to update or anything. Hopefully things will slow down a bit so I can post more on a regular basis.

P.S. I'm conducting an internship search across the country trying to find an internship in film/television production (preferably in the animation industry) for the summer. A suspicious old man. Created by playing with the brushes in Corel Essentials.

Yea, so I bought this tablet several months ago but have been put off by it. At first it was a strange feeling, being so used to paper, then it became a toy. I had a blast playing with it, but I had no clue to how exactly it could help me with my work.

Then someone challenged me to use it in order to create an editorial.

I have to say at this point that I love a chalenge. I'm a sucker for a dare. I feel there is no greater joy to be had than proving yourself capable.

I'm too bullheaded to back down, so stay tuned.

Wednesday's editorial early!

One of the real tricks to this one was in the composition. I don't have much experience with depicting groups of people so I had to draw and re-draw in order to get the right poses. The woman and the old man have quickie expressions because in the original I left them blank in order to experiment with their emotions. I just painted something there because I don't want to be seen as completely lazy.

No background either. I just wasn't sure how to tackle it. Any advice?
All criticisms will be accepted with open arms, so feel free to offer any advice!

Funny thing is, I actually worked for U.K's Delivery department for a summer! Ha.

I like this one alot. I liked it so much I was afraid to put any black and white contrasts in it for fear of ruining it!

Tony Fisher: Political Cartoonist

So I'm a contributing cartoonist to the Kentucky Kernel, the student run newspaper here on campus. I gotta say that I love it, its a blast, and that I wish they could buy a better scanner. The cartoonist that submit to the Kernel are super talented and their original submissions are beautiful, but when you see them in the Opinions section the next day, it makes you want to gouge your eyes out! So much detail gets lost in translation that it makes me want to press charges. But hey, at least we get published, right?

I'll post some of what gets published here...and some of the ones that I'm afraid to as well. Check for me and a whole bunch of other very talented artists in the Opinions section!

I've heard that this was done with Flash when it was still in its infancy, but I could be wrong. The quality of this video is bad, but the animation (considering it was done during the early versions of Flash) is fantastic, fresh, and fun! And its got lyrics by KRS one! Enjoy!
